Best pandeiro solo ever!

This is by far the cleanest and most funky solo I’ve come across in years!
By Rafael Pereira.

Notation solo Rafael Pereira
I’ve written this solo in music notation to practise it. I used TabTrax

Look at the total notation.

Like every music notation software you can also hear what you just wrote in TabTrax, with the tempo of your choice. Real pandeiro sounds aren’t available so I used the tambourine for the platinelas, bassdrum for bass and snare for tapa. For a clear difference between the normal bass and the the higher pitched bass, I added a tom in TabTrax where you want to hear the higher pitch. tempo = 120 bpm

Nice pandeiro apps for the iPhone

With Sambabox you can make a rhythm with the pandeiro, surdo, agogo, tamborim and a box of matches. Enough to make a nice samba beat.

The app iPandeiro is even more focused on the pandeiro. With this app you can make the best pandeiro beat, which you can also save on your iPhone!

A very nice site with tips & tricks about the pandeiro. You can even create your own pandeiro rhythm online!  The music notes are a bit fuzzy, but give it some time to get to know them and you can make great beats.

Video of professional making of pandeiro. Nice tip to get the skin on the frame of the pandeiro. I should have known this earlier, cause otherwise that’s a hell of a job.
